As one of the biggest video platforms, Youtube promotes the creation of effective digital policies to support ongoing technological progress while ensuring a safe and healthy online environment. The purpose of this discussion was to provide a forum for stakeholders in Indonesia to exchange ideas on addressing challenges arising from recent technological advancements (e.g., generative AI) and specific issues in Indonesia such as digital rights, misinformation mapping, and levels of digital literacy. SAIL representative, Ratna Aini Hadi, presented recent findings on the state of misinformation around Indonesia’s election. The event was also attended by Vice President of Product Management Youtube, Jennifer Flannery, and Vice President of Global Head of Trust and Safety Youtube, Matt Halprin.
